Celebrate National Dog Day at Hotel 48LEX

Two young girls with their dogs sit at a coffee shop and drink coffee.

National Dog Day is coming up fast, and if you want to be in New York City this August and with your furry companion, then we have you covered. In addition to welcoming pets here at Hotel 48LEX, we can also help point you in the direction of a number of great nearby locations to take your pooch to help celebrate the day and enjoy your stay.

For a little more guidance, here’s a brief guide on how to celebrate National Dog Day at Hotel 48LEX.

Stay at Hotel 48LEX New York

Our pet-friendly hotel in New York makes celebrating with your furry friend easy. Just let us know at least three days in advance when you’re booking whether you’ll be traveling with a dog, or two dogs, and we will be sure to prepare. Upon arrival, you will receive a dog bowl and a cushy dog bed to use during your stay. From there, there’s a lot of fun to be had.

Head Up to Central Park

Just a mile up from Hotel 48LEX New York, Central Park offers up one of the best collections of fields, trails, and pathways to explore with your dog. Not only is it scenic and iconic, but it’s filled with great art, performing musicians, and fellow dogs for your special companion to sniff around. Central Park is also quite large, so you can spend a long afternoon exploring and getting tired before finding a nice place to eat.

Grab a Bite & Go To Bryant Park

If you’re not in the mood to find a dog-friendly restaurant after a long day of walking, there are plenty of places nearby to grab a meal to go. And from there, you can go sit at Bryant Park, which is one of the more popular and intimate public parks in Manhattan. For something on the dog theme, you could grab one of Frankies Dogs On the Go nearby, or you could get something from the Bryant Park Cafe.

Go To Boris & Horton

We also recommend checking out Boris & Horton while exploring New York City with your canine companion. Located on Avenue A of Alphabet City, this trendy cafe features coffee, beer, and wine, as well as delicious baked goods. Oh yeah, it’s also New York’s first Department of Health approved dog-friendly cafe, where customers can bring dogs in. It’s a great spot to get in touch with fellow dog lovers and let your pooch be around fellow dogs.
